JOB DISCRIPTION
Faith church is currently interviewing candidates for the full-time position of Director of Student Ministries. In this role, the successful candidate will lead and guide our church's middle and high school student ministry. They will be responsible for leading the church's efforts to disciple and minister to youth between grades 6-12, including reaching out to unchurched youth in the community, engaging them with the gospel, and encouraging their involvement in the work of the church.
ABOUT FAITH CHURCH
Faith Church is a vibrant congregation located in Rochester Hills, Michigan. With a focus on Biblical teaching and community outreach, our worship service and weekly activities provide opportunities for evangelism, discipleship and youth ministries. We are a multi-generational congregation with an average worship service of around 200 and 40 years of ministry in our area, reaching out and serving the north metro Detroit area.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the church's efforts to minister with, and to, youth between grades 6-12.
· Reach out to unchurched youth in the community, engage them with the gospel, and involve them in the work of the church.
· Recruit, develop, and deploy new volunteers for the church's youth ministry.
· In consultation with other youth leaders and senior church leadership, develop an annual budget for the youth ministry and operate within the constraints of that budget.
· Develop a Bible teaching calendar for the youth that takes into consideration the full counsel of God's Word and the spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental needs of the youth in our community.
· Regularly teach the Bible to the youth with conviction, compassion, and care.
REQUIREMENTS
· A love for, and a desire to teach and disciple youth in Biblical truth.
· A bachelor's degree in Bible preferred.
· A lifestyle consistent with the Biblical requirements for leaders found in 1 Timothy 3:1-13, 2 Timothy 2 and Titus 1:5-9
· An understanding and willingness to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the church.
