The Director of Student Access and Academic Enrichment is responsible for
overseeing the development, coordination and implementation of initiatives and
support services for Roosevelt University students, with a strong focus on
student learning and ensuring continuous quality improvement and positive
student experience academic success and retention of Roosevelt University
students. Works closely with students and faculty to identify and meet their
changing needs, focusing on both the physical facilities and online
Reporting to the Vice Provost for Student Success, the Director of Student
Access and Academic Enrichment will:
Be responsible for the implementation and assessment of retention efforts
housed in the Learning Commons including peer tutoring, peer mentoring and
Supervise professional staff (one-on-ones, weekly staff meetings)
Provide strategic leadership in connecting disability services & academic
support programs with the CORE Curriculum.
Work with the Vice Provost for Student Success to update and disseminate
FYS 101, TRS 101 and UNIV 210 curriculum to instructors
Develop and deliver learning support workshops with professional and
student staff for current and prospective students, connecting with
faculty and staff across campus to offer services and workshops through
Collect and manage data in Learning Commons in order to assess student
access and success in programs, adjust services as needed.
Review and track systems and processes and make recommendations for
improvement to better meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff and
to improve the quality and timeliness of services
Ensure alignment of services across campuses and as they extend to online
Represent Learning Commons on committees and working groups across campus
and at major campus events (such as Admitted Student Day, Preview Day,
Manage on-line tutoring tool (pull data, keep track of hours, maintain
contact with rep)
Assist in difficult accommodation cases which can involve parents, Dean of
Students, faculty, staff, or other members of RU Leadership
Oversees internal communication and marketing activities
Oversees budget of the Learning Commons

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Four (4) years demonstrating progressively responsible higher education
or student support/success experience
Two (2) years of supervising professional or graduate staff
Experience with enrollment and student support systems such as Banner and
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and
collaboratively and collegially with diverse faculty, staff, students, and
Experience collecting and analyzing data for program assessment and
Years of Experience Required 4-6
Required Education Masters Degree
Master's degree in counseling, social work, education or related field
At least two (2) years of experience in academic advising, disabilities
services, residential life, tutoring center coordination or case
Experience working with predictive analytics tools and student data
Experience teaching at the high school or college level
Experience with FERPA, confidentiality of student records, and student
record keeping policies
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing process improvements
Experience coordinating events, activities, initiatives, and
communications to support student engagement.
Office equipment (desktop computer, laptop, office printer/ multi-function
device and phone).
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely
sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings
frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is
required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use
of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and
repetition. Moderate level of stress.
