    Reporting to the Vice Chancellor and Provost (VC/Provost), the Director of Strategic Support supports the College by utilizing technical data expertise to aid with strategic planning and retention activities within the Student Success division.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Performance Requirements

  • Supports the data and research needs of the Office of the Vice Chancellor and Provost by collaborating with Institutional Research to provide timely, relevant, accurate, and insightful student success data
  • Utilizes technical expertise to collect quantitative data from various systems and platforms for analysis, interpretation, and to aid in the implementation of student success initiatives
  • Works with large complex data sets, including exporting and importing from various sources and inferring data relationships to support strategic decision making
  • Manages several projects simultaneously, while organizing and prioritizing work based on shifting and complex requests and deadlines
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to develop planning and implementation of college academic initiatives
  • Prepares reports and recommendations, summarizing data and analyses that present results in a clear and concise manner including implementation strategies
  • Executes other duties as assigned to support the effective functioning of the Student Success Division
  • Maintains confidentiality of various sensitive information types, relating to students, employees, finances, future College initiatives, etc.
  • Service Excellence

  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, creativity, and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
  • Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Vice Chancellor and Provost

    Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

    Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Three (3) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Higher Education or a related field
  • Experience using data for broad-based planning and decision making
  • Experience working in an academic or student service capacity
  • Experience working in a college setting
  • Experience working with executive-level assignments
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of higher education data analysis and research
  • Knowledge of technical data coding structures and conventions, and methodologies for quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Skilled in using statistical software and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite; retrieving and manipulating data from a statistical information system (SIS)
  • Skilled in collecting and analyzing data for use in providing sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations while exhibiting strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships with diverse populations, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
  • Skilled in presenting and manipulating analyzed data and research findings to various stakeholders; providing projections and insights
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly and accurately in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied and unpredictable in scope and volume
