Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a Director of Research
and Assessment for its Office of Community Engagement.
The position will help facilitate and conduct action-oriented research;
collaborate with community partners to conduct neighborhood asset and
vulnerability mappings; performing gap analysis to determine goal attainment;
and performing evaluation studies. Support and manage strategic plan
performance indicators; establish research agendas; respond to, address, and
manage requests for data and information about campus community engagement;
collaborate with community partners to conduct impact evaluations/community
need assessments; serve as the Associate Editor for the ENGAGE! Journal
ensuring the overall quality of the intellectual content of the journal and
overseeing the review process; conduct research on Latinx communities in
Indianapolis; produce reports based on research and publish in specialized
peer-reviewed journals; coordinate the Community Engaged Research Group
discussions and team decision making; design and develop a graduate-level
certificate in Community-Engaged Research; define a research agenda and
identify funding for research; evaluate the University's Student Success Corps
(Indiana Kids) program; provide assessment/evaluation of research requests
from Department partners; and service to the campus and the University.
PhD in Social Work, Community Development, Higher Education, or other related
field. 5 years of experience working in or with research at an institution of
higher education. 5 years of experience with social research or program
evaluation in higher education. Experience working to address community
identified issues with diverse populations and stakeholders, including non-
profit leaders, schools and educators, governmental agencies, and community
organizations and leaders. Experience in program design and implementation as
well as budget and grant management. Experience working on projects that
support efforts to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Position requires a PhD in Social Work, Community Development, Higher
