Job Summary
Under the supervision of the president, the Director of Marketing and Recruiting provides vision and strategic direction for marketing and recruiting. This position has responsibility for development, oversight and management of all university marketing and recruiting programs and initiatives to include development and monitoring of enrollment targets, recruitment objectives, tactics and strategies. The director is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Office of Marketing and Recruiting including providing support to and oversight of all personnel within the department as well as providing collaboration with third party vendors who provide student search, enrollment and recruiting services. The director must have a thorough knowledge of and experience with current technologies for recruiting traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students. The director is responsible for the development of marketing resources and strategic campaigns for student recruitment including social media, web-based communications, web site management for recruitment purposes, and printed materials. The director is responsible for enrollment stability and strategic growth within a strategic enrollment management plan that aligns with the mission, academic vision and strategic plan of the university.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose
· Assist the university and department in implementing the long-range institutional and financial plans
· Supervise and provide development opportunities for the recruiting and marketing teams
· Provide leadership and oversight for the recruitment and marketing staff
· Develop, and analyze admissions data, making informed decision about short and long range enrollment goals and new market opportunities
· Oversees budget management for the department including development, oversight, and adjustment of initiatives to ensure effective fiscal responsibility
· Oversees all public relations activities, including brand management, publications, mass media, social and other web media, including the university web site for both internal and external audiences
· Represent the University at both on-campus and off-campus events and activities
· Communicate regularly with the University community to inform and broaden the understanding of, and appreciation for, recruitment initiatives, progress, results, and opportunities for collaboration
· Plans, directs, and implements an energetic, coordinated marketing and communications strategy in support of the College's Mission, Values and established priorities
· Provides leadership, engagement, and management to a team of marketing and communication professionals covering marketing, and digital and social media
· Collaborate in the development of multimedia student recruitment marketing plan for the University
· Development and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for recruiting students to William Carey University
· Provide leadership and oversight for marketing efforts for student recruitment, including managing the outside consultants
· Organize a comprehensive recruiting calendar
· Provide leadership in the review, evaluation, and development of printed and electronic recruiting materials, including social media
· Direct recruiting-related research, including enrollment forecasting and geo-demographic studies
· Research opportunities for international student recruiting, including establishing goals, objectives, and strategies
· Maintain awareness of key recruiting trends and strategies, especially related to peer colleges and universities
· Establish and oversee recruitment management policies, systems, and procedures
· Oversee the optimum utilization of information systems and technology to manage recruitment processes
· Work with the Office of Institutional Research to analyze institutional data and research and design effective recruitment initiatives
· Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
· Ability to learn WCU's accounting and student database software
· Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in progressively responsible roles in marketing
· Excellent and proven written, oral, interpersonal communication, organizational, analytical, and follow-through skills
· Significant experience in higher education recruitment
· Demonstrated success in increasing student enrollment
· Demonstrated expertise in higher education marketing
· Proven track record of effectively leading a team of professionals
· Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to perform well under stress
· Experience with budget management
· Experience with common office productivity software, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite
· Valid driver's license and insurability
Physical Demands
· Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment including a computer
· Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
· Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
· Must have the ability to travel for recruitment development and other responsibilities
· Must have strength and agility to move files, paper boxes, and minor office equipment
