The Director serves as a member of the enrollment management leadership team
and develops, plans, implements and oversees programs and services that yield
a high impact to new student enrollment. This position works collaboratively
with leadership, faculty, staff, and alumni to structure and implement
programs and initiatives that engage students, parents and family members to
expose them to and welcome them into the St. Mary's University experience and
campus community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures best-in class campus visit programming and evaluates and analyzes
visit and engagement data in order to make recommendations for continued
outreach and identify any areas needing additional support.
Collaborates with Undergraduate Admission on relationship building with
key constituents such as high school counselors, school districts, and
community-based organizations. Oversee key events such as the Private
School Fair (PSF), preview days, and admitted student days hosted on our
campus each cycle.
Coordinates with the offices of financial assistance and graduate
admission to support both in person and virtual programming where
alignment is necessary.
Employs the effective use of technology through a variety of resources for
new students, parents, and family members including virtual engagement, up
to date content on website, relevant content on social media platforms,
and manages digital communication plans to support department initiatives.
Coordinates the outreach to deposited freshmen and transfer students in
order to ensure the lowest melt percentage possible.
Oversees the Faculty Recruitment Ambassador program and leverages
strategic use of faculty at on-and off campus events.
Manages the Admission Ambassador program (student intern staff);
selects, supervises and trains participants to work in engaging with new
students and their families in initiatives such as campus tours,
recruitment and yield programming and virtual events.
Develops and oversees an alumni recruitment volunteer program that
provides alumni with an opportunity to engage with prospective students
and families at events such as college fairs, alumni panels and
information sessions.
Directs and oversees business process documentation including training
documents and policy manuals, establishing and implementing new procedures
as needed.
Manages the office and programs including strategic planning, assessment,
and budget oversight as well as managing and training professional and
student staff employed throughout the office and oversees the delivery of
excellent customer service at the admission office reception area.
Directs the annual St. Mary's University Counselor Fly-In program.
Ensures division staff actively record interactions with all prospective
students and their families in our CRM, Slate.
Collaborates with University Communications to direct social media efforts
for department programs.
Participates in national associations for the profession, such as
Collegiate Information & Visitor Services Association (CIVSA)
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Master's
degree preferred.
5-7 years of progressively responsible professional/administrative
experience required; 7-10 years preferred. Direct experience in admission,
enrollment services, student services, public relations, volunteer
management, or related experience required.
Must clear and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
Must have valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and
personal injury insurance; or have a self-reliant source of transportation
to conduct business on a daily basis.
Must be able to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and
weekends.
Must have the ability to demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills in MS
Office and Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook and PowerPoint)
including experience with virtual platforms such as Zoom; Experience in
Technolutions, Slate CRM and Ellucian-Banner software or similar programs
a plus. Proficiency in the use of social media platforms (Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
Must have ability to demonstrate attention to detail and be able to
organize workflow, coordinate activities, balance simultaneous projects
without loss of efficiency in a multi-tasked environment, and manage
multiple priorities to meet deadlines
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong public
relations and customer service skills with an ability to implement
diplomacy and discretion at all times; ability to work effectively with
communities across the university.
Must have high ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality;
ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines; thrive in a complex
work environment; display solid problem solving and interpersonal skills;
work well independently and as part of a team.
Must have a high attention to detail and be able to organize workflow,

Exhibit initiative, imagination, and organizational abilities to
effectively promote and manage the development of new student and family
initiatives.
Understanding academic advising, financial aid and student development and
knowledge of the St. Mary's culture and ability to represent and
communicate the university mission to prospective students and families is
preferred.
Display a strong commitment to the mission of the institution and ability
to articulate the value of a Marianist, Catholic education.
Knowledge of principles and practices in higher and postsecondary
education in relation to student transition.
Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish with the ability to understand and
to make one's self understood to Spanish speaking individuals)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Working conditions are in an office environment and university campus
setting. Must be able to move across the university campus to conduct day
to day business.
While performing this role, the employee will be regularly required to
sit, walk, and stand; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; and
use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; and
occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision,
distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequently communicates with others using approved technological
resources; must be able to exchange accurate information through
designated systems within a timely manner.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
