    The UNI Advancement Division strengthens the University of Northern Iowa by fostering enduring relationships and generating philanthropic investment through strategic engagement with students, alumni, donors and friends. We are hiring two Directors of Development. The successful candidate will support the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) or the College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences (CHAS).

    The Director of Development plans, directs and implements annually identified activities relevant to fundraising priorities and needs for the University of Northern Iowa Foundation and the assigned college; coordinates external relations, donor programs and events that support the fundraising work plan; develops and implements current and new fundraising, recognition and stewardship programs as appropriate; makes individual contacts with alumni, friends and businesses to solicit funding support for the UNI Foundation; networks with department heads, faculty, and staff to facilitate resource development initiatives; performs management responsibilities as appropriate; and represents the UNI Foundation in a wide range of professional settings and to a wide range of constituents.

    Education Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree required.

    Required Qualifications:

    At least three years of combined experience in fund-raising or non-profit development working directly with donors, functioning as a key member of a fund-raising/sales team, and/or similar significant direct client contact experience in sales and/or marketing required. Frequent overnight travel will be necessary.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    Non-profit development experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated commitment to educational excellence; creativity, self- motivation and the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively with alumni, friends, and businesses preferred.
