Position Title Director of Community StandardsJob Description
The Director of Community standards serves as the primary conduct officer for investigating and adjudicating incidents of student misconduct, and as the primary civil rights investigator for Title IX incidents. They provide support, guidance, and dotted line supervision to Residence Life Coordinators and Resident Assistants as they process student conduct cases. They are responsible for maintaining the daily crime log for all campus incidents.
The Director of Community Standards oversees the Student Intervention Team, which is a collaborative team that works to address ongoing student behavioral and/or safety concerns. This involves coordinating with Campus Safety and Security, Residence Life, and Student Assistance.
The Director of Community Standards is responsible for staying updated on current trends and practices in the areas of student conduct, high-risk behaviors, VAWA, Clery, and Title IX. They will create and present educational materials on those subjects to staff, faculty, and students. They will collaborate with Student Activities and Student Assistance to plan and execute educational events that focus on minimizing high-risk behaviors.
