Applications are invited for appointment as Director of Careers and Placement (at the rank of Senior Assistant Registrar) in the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) (Ref.: 519324) (to commence from June 2023, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).
Applicants should possess a good University degree with at least 10-15 years' working experience in human resources development, education, consultancy and/or other related disciplines. They should possess a strong professional network and have a good knowledge of the employment landscape for a wide variety of industries in Hong Kong and other regions nearby. The applicants should demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the support required for university graduates (at undergraduate and postgraduate level) to join the workforce. They should be visionary, energetic and have a sound knowledge of the technology development in careers and placement. They should also share the University's educational vision in nurturing students to become future leaders and global citizens.
The Director of Careers and Placement is expected to provide strong and dynamic leadership in the planning, development and implementation of career education programmes and recruitment activities for undergraduates and postgraduates of the University. He/She shall be proactive in connecting with prospective employers/professionals to expand placements and career opportunities for graduating students. Experience in young talents acquisition and working with young people on career development would be an advantage. He/She will lead a team of professional and operational staff, overseeing the Careers and Placement Section of CEDARS. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
