Applications are invited for appointment as Director of Campus Life (at the rank of Senior Assistant Registrar) in the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) (Ref.: 519078) (to commence from June 2023, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).
Applicants should possess a good University degree with at least 10-15 years' working experience in the higher education sector. They should have a sound knowledge of university students' expectations on higher education, campus experience and co-curricular opportunities. They are expected to be data- driven and user-focused; proficient at building relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., student organisations) with a view to fostering a culture of trust and mutual respect whilst embracing the University's values and guiding principles. They should be visionary, energetic, a team player and be comfortable with working in a matrix structure under pressure. They should strive to be innovative in looking for solutions to problems; make decisions in a fast-paced environment; involve various members of the team in the delivery of high-quality student-focused services.
The Director of Campus Life is expected to provide strong and dynamic leadership in the planning, development and implementation of a range of services, including but not limited to, accommodation, amenities, financial services, support to student societies and induction in order to enhance students' learning life and campus experience in the University. He/she will lead a team of professional and operational staff to work closely with different units of the University and different key industry players in the region. He/She will also oversee the day-to-day administration and overall supervision of colleagues in the Campus Life Section of CEDARS. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
