Director of Admissions

Basic Function: To develop and administer the College's student recruitment, orientation, and admissions activities. Partner with the High School Partnerships office to aid in the registration and retention of high school students enrolled in college classes.

Salary & Benefits: Salary of $58,000 - $73,000 based on experience. Benefits include Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance; eye care, dental, life & disability insurance; paid vacation; and a choice of IPERS or TIAA retirement plans.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree recommended. Five years' experience in college admissions or other student services related areas.

Responsibilities: Direct and manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of the College recruitment and admissions activities. Coordinate recruitment and admissions activities and facilitate the registration and records process for new students. Maintain, analyze, and disseminate enrollment data to assist in planning and evaluating recruitment and marketing efforts. Develop and administer a comprehensive, efficient, and accurate system for maintaining student admission records and policies governing their use, utilizing appropriate and effective technology. Supervise all professional-technical and clerical staff positions in the Admissions Office and administer training, staff development, and evaluation programs for those staff. Coordinate, on an ongoing basis, with campus offices, especially the Registrar's Office, Counseling Office, Financial Aid Office, High School Partnerships Office, Computer Center, and instructional areas. Develop and administer the budget for the Admissions Office. Coordinate with the Marketing Department to assure appropriate publications and promotional materials are planned, developed, and delivered in a timely fashion. Provide leadership in the planning, development, and distribution of appropriate correspondence as it impacts the recruitment and admissions activities. Provide leadership in the organization and implementation of the College's New Student Registration and Orientation programs. Aid with retention efforts of the College. Apprise supervisor of activities and make recommendations on policies and procedures. Facilitate professional growth through participation in appropriate organizations and conferences. Coordinate with Academic Advising staff to ensure Enrollment Advisors are trained in academic advising. Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
