Position Summary
The College of Health Sciences at Jackson State University isaccepting
applications for its Director of Marketing and FieldPlacement position. The
Director of Marketing and FieldPlacement will provide leadership and
coordination forrecruitment and admission of students in the School of
PublicHealth (SPH). The Director will develop and maintain a highlyeffective
marketing campaign; Identify field placement sites,obtain written agreements,
and develop/maintain a current field
placement database to track student placements for theSPH.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Education
Advanced degree in marketing, career development/placements, and/or
related areas.
Master's degree minimum, with a proven record of experience in marketing
higher education programs and field placements in diverse community-based
settings.
Doctoral degree with teaching experience in PublicHealth/Healthcare
preferred.
Minimum Required Experience
Building brand awareness & positioning the School of Public Health to
reflect excellence in training exemplary practitioner-scholars.
Proficiency with social media marketing strategies and content marketing.
Evidence of experience with engaging diverse stakeholders (government,
hospitals, non-profits organizations, health departments, housing,
criminal justice, chamber of commerce, academic health centers, campus
health centers, etc.) for planning, directing, and coordinating student
activities that support workforce development.
Preferred experience with Internships/Practicum as extended learning for
workforce development.
A minimum of three (3) years of work experience with marketing,
recruitment, and admissions.
Teaching experience in higher educations preferred.
Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
Preferred Certified Public Health or CHES (competence-based frameworks for
Public Health related fields).
Qualifications
Master's degree (related fields of marketing, career development, field
placement. and/or student personnel) and a minimum of 3 years of work
experience with marketing, recruitment, retention, and graduation of students;
field placements, and/or directing student engagement learning experiences.
Doctoraldegree with teaching experience in Public Health/Healthcare preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Provide instructional learning activities.
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal Knowledge
Requirements skills
Possess strong computer skills and use of related software applications to
update/maintain webpages
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and
other marketing software
Must serve as a liaison for the College of Health Sciences & SOPH to
create new or build upon continued collaborations/partnerships with
community stakeholders (e.g., health departments, non-profits,
industries, Chamber of Commerce, municipalities, universities/colleges,
state/local government, hospitals, health service organizations, voluntary
health organizations, Foundations, etc.)
Develop and maintain student applicants' database; track admissions and
prepare reports that inform the faculty and administrators of recruitment,
activities.
Utilize survey methodology (quantitative and qualitative) to assess
recruitment strategies, field placement of students and to improve field
placement outcomes for various programs (HCA, MPH, DrPH) in the SOPH
Provide leadership for evaluating internship and practicum experiences;
prepare oral and written reports for dissemination of the evaluation
results
Coordinate Recruitment, and field placement activities within and in
conjunction with faculty, other schools and colleges at JSU.
Provide support and essential reportsnecessary for advancing both CEPH and
University
accreditations.
Initiate formal written agreement or memorandum of understanding with
health agencies, community-based organizations and institutions for field
placement in collaboration with field preceptors
Prepare budget to support marketing and field placement activities
Proven ability to establish partnerships with institutions and
organizations
Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse
backgrounds, life experiences and abilities
Ability to travel and recruit students from other schools, colleges and
universities
Ability to conduct site visits and write reports that document evidence of
appropriate student placements for accreditation requirements and that
support the mission of the College and SOPH
Show initiative and motivation to problem solve and advance initiatives
related to the position description
Knowledge of university/department admissions policies and procedures
Knowledge of the importance of public health roles and functions in the
21' century
Demonstrate an awareness of the importance of public health roles and

graduation of students in the School of Public s Health (SOPH)
Develop and maintain a highly effective marketing campaign for the SOPH
Website and social media management
Identify field placement sites, obtain written agreements, and
develop/maintain a current field placement database to track student
placements and Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for SOPH
Serve as a liaison for the College of Health Sciences and SOPH to create
new or build upon continued collaborations/partnerships with community
stakeholders such as legislators, hospitals, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Develop and maintain student applicants' database; track admissions,
prepare reports that inform the faculty and administrators of recruitment,
retention, and graduation outcomes (employment and salaries)
Utilize survey methodology (quantitative and qualitative) to assess
recruitment strategic, field placement of students and to improve field
placement outcomes (experiences and linkages to career opportunities)
Provide leadership for evaluating internship and practicum experiences
Prepare oral and written reports for dissemination of the evaluation
results
Coordinate Recruitment, Retention, and Graduation activities within and in
