About the Role As the Director Health, Safety and Wellbeing you will play a core role in Swinburne's commitment to ensure that its staff, students and visitors are supported by strong health, safety and wellbeing practices and is an environment that supports and nurtures innovation and growth.

You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, advice and direction to the University across the Health, Safety and Wellbeing portfolio.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced senior leader who would relish the chance in leading a team of professional experts in the areas of:

Workplace Health and Safety

Psychological Safety

Workers Compensation

Injury Management

Emergency Preparedness and Planning

Health & Wellbeing

Public Health

Behavioral risk and threat assessment (Safer Community)

Child Safety

If you are passionate at providing strategic knowledge and advice within Health, Safety and Wellbeing; then his is an opportunity not to be missed.

About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

Knowledge and experience in contemporary safety practice (e.g. Safety Type II, Safety Differently, etc).

Exceptional management and leadership skills with proven ability to strategically manage and provide authoritative technical and policy advice at the highest levels.

Experience in service delivery including financial management and service level agreements.

Outstanding relationship management and consulting skills including the ability to lead consultative processes, engage with senior management, influence and negotiate at the highest levels.

Outstanding planning and organisational skills, with experience in establishing priorities, allocating resources and meeting deadlines while working under pressure in a large, complex organisation.

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualification in Health Safety & Wellbeing with extensive relevant experience
