    Responsible for directing a laboratory school as part of the Yavapai College Early Childhood Education program including all aspects of planning, directing, managing, supervising and coordinating the operation of a child development center for Yavapai College students and a high-quality childcare program for the children of students, staff, faculty and the community.

    The successful Family Enrichment Center (FEC) director: -- takes an active Leadership Role at the college by supporting the college mission, vision and initiatives, -- demonstrates a willingness to take direction and work as part of the Yavapai College community to support Cultural Change and excels in working as Part of a Team. - establishes and maintains a Positive Rapport with families and members of the community and has a good sense of humor. - Sets the ECDC Policy and Procedures that align with Yavapai College requirements for licensed childcare centers. - excels in Personnel Management (hiring, training, staffing, substitute system, student workers, coaching, professional development, evaluating) - excels in Financial Management (budget oversight, resolving payment issues, grants management and contract compliance, scholarships, fund- raising) - maintains Educational Programming and Oversight (curriculum review, classroom observations, articulation with ECE department, identifying gaps and addressing, planning staff in-services) - oversees Family (client) Relations (parent group, student parent support, facilitation and mediation of parent issues and child behavior issues, liaison to outside resources) -directs Assessment and Quality Improvement (compliance with regulatory bodies, Quality First assessment standards and Accreditation criteria, implementing staff/parent feedback as appropriate) - maintains Facility Oversight (safety monitoring, regulatory compliance, articulate with YC facilities dept) - manages Marketing, Public Relations, Advocacy (advertising materials and publicity, tours and presentations, networking with local and state ECE professionals)

    Minimum Expectations & Requirements

    --Baccalaureate degree or higher in early childhood education/child development OR --Baccalaureate degree or higher in a related field (i.e., social work, psychology, special education or elementary education) with 12 college credits (semester hours in early childhood/child development completed or in progress. AND - Six college credits (semester hours) in business administration/ program management completed or in progress OR --Nine CEUs in business administration/program management completed or in progress OR --State-approved Director/Administrator Credential AND --Minimum of one year of experience in administration of an early childhood program and a minimum of two years of teaching in an early care and education classroom -CPR/FirstAid certification - 30+ hours of annual professional development in child development and program management, supervision and leadership - Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties

    Preferred Skills & Abilities

    - Professional work experience in a child development center. - Experience managing a child development center - knowledge of database software, Project Management software, spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. - Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment.

  • Spanish Interpreter Incentive Program: Employees interested in additional compensation for their Spanish speaking skills agree to assist YC by attending two recruiting events and being available for Spanish Interpretation needs as they arise. Compensation is added to the employee's regular pay at the rate of $175 per month. Employees that are interested in participating let your HR Business Partner know, so they can schedule you for the ACTFL language proficiency test at the YC testing center.
