Salary Information Commensurate with experience Department Summary

The Office of Educational Programs' Graduate Certificate in Academic Medicine focuses on developing a solid base of core academic skills and commitment to a career of teaching, scholarly investigation, and leadership in academic medicine for health professions educators. Participants include physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other health care providers.

Position Overview

This position reports to the TCOM Sr Associate Dean for Educational Programs/Graduate Medical Education. This position provides leadership for the TCOM Faculty Development Center, oversees development and delivery of FDC educational programming, and serves as a liaison representing FDC to outside institutions, state agencies, other healthcare organizations, and TCOM affiliated and statewide graduate medical education programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six (6) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or EdD in adult learning sciences, post-graduate education, or a similar field.
  • Must be proficient in the use of technology resources for remote delivery of education (Canvas, Zoom, MS Teams, etc.) and in the use of standard MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Required License / Registration / Certification Work Schedule

    Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM

    Remote work, nights, and weekends may be required. Weekends will be dependent on GCAM scheduling.

    Requires travel to TCOM-affiliated GME program sites and enrolled GCAM fellows' institutions. Other travel may be required as needed.

    Job Duties

    o

    Provide leadership for the TCOM Faculty Development Center, oversee development and delivery of and personally deliver instruction in FDC educational programming.

    o

    Serve as a liaison representing FDC to outside institutions, state agencies, other healthcare organizations, and TCOM affiliated and statewide graduate medical education programs.

    o

    Recruit and enroll participants in FDC educational programming, including but not limited to the Graduate Certificate in Academic Medicine.

    o

    Ensure assessment of and quality improvement for FDC educational programming at regular intervals.

    o

    Demonstrate scholarly activity through dissemination of outcomes and studies of FDC educational programming.

    o

    Develop, promote, and sustain a community of practice for teaching physicians and other educators enrolled in or having graduated from FDC educational programs and/or connected to the activities of the FDC.
