Main duties and responsibilities
The Digital Skills Developer will support the implementation of digital capability initiatives across academic schools and professional SBUs. They will work in close collaboration with team members to assist in the design and delivery of an effective programme of digital skills development opportunities, aimed at staff and students. You will support the execution of the Digital Capabilities Strategy initiatives including the design and delivery of training sessions (in person and online) for staff and student audiences. You will also support the digital capabilities needs assessment activities, including the promotion of the Jisc Discovery Tool, analysis of the Jisc Digital Experience Insights Survey results, consultations with SBUs and the analysis of training and development feedback.
Skills and experience required
You will have substantial proven experience in supporting the design and delivery of live synchronous and/or in-person training sessions, across one or more areas of digital skills development to small and large audiences. You will also have substantial proven experience in supporting the development of online self-study course materials that are high in quality, engaging and effective and substantial proven experience in authoring instructional guidance in a variety of media formats that are clearly presented and digitally accessible.
Experience in producing learning resources, using creative tools such as iSpring, Captivate, and the Adobe Creative Suite and experience in researching and evaluating freely available learning tools and resources for their relevance and suitability to identified audiences is also essential.
Qualifications required
You will hold a minimum of a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or proven experience at an appropriate level. It would be desirable to hold a relevant post graduate qualification.
