Salary: £35,333 pa to £38,592 pa with potential to progress to £42,155 pa on achieving designated skills and experience

Location: MacLaurin Building, Hatfield (with option for partial remote working)

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the digital transformation of a major UK university. We're looking for a skilled Digital Experience Lead to initiate and implement user experience innovations on our external website, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver our audiences a sector-leading digital experience.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading the delivery of sector-leading user experiences across the University's external digital platforms. They will develop, execute and analyse data-driven and measurable digital experiences that resonate with and drive desired behaviour from targeted audiences, including prospective students and commercial leads.

With an in-depth knowledge of user experience methodologies and understanding of user behaviour, you will ensure the University's digital platforms are engaging, useful, enjoyable and inspire action. Working within a multi- disciplinary creative environment, you will draw on the expertise of colleagues and act on insight from a range of sources to provide users with an exemplary digital experience that helps convert enquirers and increases the profile and reputation of the University.

You will work closely with the Insight team, senior stakeholders and creative teams. Your responsibilities will include managing workloads and stakeholder expectations and providing appropriate skills training to colleagues.

Skills and experience required

As the successful candidate, you will have a proven track record of confidently reporting on user insight and sector trends, transforming data into future recommendations.

With a high-level understanding of SEO principles and other best practices with regards to digital content, excellent attention to detail and English writing ability and specialist knowledge of industry-standard software and services such as Google Analytics and/or other reporting and optimisation tools, you will be able to demonstrate prior impact on the user experience of a large and complex digital environment.

Qualifications required

You will have a degree in Digital Marketing (or a related field of study), a qualification to an equivalent standard or have substantial proven professional work experience in a user experience role within complex digital environments.
