Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Digital Designer and Developer in the Marketing and Communications. This position will be fully remote after successfully completion of a six month probationary period. Please note: This position has been updated as of 01/17/23.
The candidate would be expected to: design, build, implement, and maintain inclusive and high performance web pages and digital assets that prospective and current students, alumni, employees, and the community will easily use and enjoy.

A bachelor's degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
Proficiency with design software such as Sketch, Figma, InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop. Experience building web pages with WordPress, specifically the block editor.
Familiarity with modern front-end development: HTML5, JavaScript (ES6/ESNext), and CSS3 (SCSS).
Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 guidelines. Familiarity with Git.
Demonstrated knowledge of web usability and information architecture. Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Higher education experience.

Duty
Create compelling, user-centered visual design concepts consistent with the University's mission, strategy, and brand for websites and digital applications, optimizing the use of screen layout and user interface elements.
Regular or Occasional Regular Duty
Work with marketing team colleagues and stakeholders to create or improve existing digital assets such as email designs, digital ads, social posts, and other web and digital assets.

Provide graphic support for websites including suggesting photos or imagery, coordinating graphic needs with Art Director and Graphic Designer, and cropping and color correcting images.

Audit existing web pages to make informed decisions about improvements, including suggesting ways to improve user experience (UX).

Recommend and implement new libraries, frameworks, processes and other web technologies.

Perform cross-browser/device testing to ensure compatibility and resolve any issues.
