Statement of Position:

Under the general direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Digital Content Specialist will work with offices across campus to provide web content management support and fulfill needs in the areas of social media, video production, analytics reporting, and strategic communications. The Digital Content Specialist conceptualizes, plans, and executes the website needs and other digital content needs of the institution in support of recruitment efforts and overarching marketing goals; creates and edits digital content that positively impacts the university's mission, goals, strategic objectives, and constituency relations in alignment with the university's strategic plan; oversees the day-to-day operations on the University's various social media platforms; captures photos and video of campus life and activities to utilize on the institution's website and social media; oversees the university's analytics and provides insights for optimizing performance; and provides support to the Director on strategic communications efforts, including publication of the electronic newsletter. Remote work is a possibility for up to two days per week.

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the salary range is low-$40,000's, plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Qualifications :

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related area (Marketing, English, Communications) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of professional website content management experience (familiarity with WordPress preferred) and experience in social media management and content generation (in a university setting preferred).
  • The successful candidate must have demonstrated content management skills, including advanced writing, editing, researching, and ensuring quality control in a variety of platforms.
  • Must have demonstrated video production and photography skills, including knowledge of lighting, equipment, and editing, as well as proficiency in web-related graphics.
  • Must have previous experience in planning strategically and managing multiple and competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of communication and branding strategies as they relate to a large, diverse, matrix-style organization with cross- functional teams and understand how to communicate effectively while collaborating with internal and external audiences.
  • PREFERRED:

  • Experience in marketing and branding a university.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and other Google tools to assist in analytics reporting and campaign optimization.
  • Customer relationship management (CRM) familiarity.
  • Expert-level skills in videography. Familiarity with the Adobe suite of products.
  • Working knowledge of AP style.
