  • The main objective of the research activities will be aimed at the synthesis and evaluation of the biological activity of new molecules with selective inhibitory activity towards PDK1 and CDK1. These two targets are overexpressed in many tumor types, and their currently available inhibitors appear not very selective and cause unwanted side effects that limit their therapeutic use. Furthermore, a deregulation of the activity of these proteins has been associated with the development of cancer stem cells.
