  • Over the past twenty years, both the emerging use of new drugs of abuse and the misuse of prescription drugs are becoming an important social burden for health systems. The non-therapeutic use (in terms of dosage and method of taking) of prescription and over-the-counter drugs is a serious problem that increasingly affects adolescents. In this specific project we intend to study the use of biological matrices, such as saliva, from mouse models subjected to treatment schemes comparable to those used for discretionary purposes. Specific analytical methods based on chromatographic techniques will be set and the devices to be used will be selected, then the best performing extraction techniques will be evaluated. In the screening phase, the extraction / analytical phase from biological matrix taken in vivo will be optimized.
