  • The project aims to develop and validate an integrated workflow for lightweight component development using innovative materials and manufacturing processes for a sustainable mobility. Therefore after a state of the art about the topic, the project considers: i) the additive production of metals with PBF (Powder Bed Fusion) technology including optimized heat treatments, ii) the characterization of the mechanical-structural properties of advanced alloys for the green mobility, iii) the shape optimization of structural components with numerical techniques; iv) investigation of surface improvement techniques; v) the validation of advanced design and simulation methodologies through component testing. The interaction with engineers of leading automotive companies will be exploited to have an objective assessment of the impact of the research know-how on sustainable mobility.
