We are looking for a Deputy HR Manager to joint the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN). The NDCN HR Team provides high quality professional services to support over 495 staff and approximately 385 academic visitors. This is an exciting and positively challenging role, giving you an opportunity to assist some of the world's leading researchers, within one of the most respected Universities in the world.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will manage the supervision of the HR Apprentices and the day-to-day transactional processes for the HR team, providing a professional customer focused service for NDCN. You will interact with staff at all levels and deliver accurate, appropriate and timely HR support, advice and documentation in line with university policy. You are expected to demonstrate generalist HR knowledge and skills and your key responsibilities will be recruitment, all aspects of the employee life-cycle and payroll changes through the online HR system, in line with monthly deadlines. You will support international recruitment and will be required to be fully conversant with the current UKBA immigration and visa regulations. Training will be provided in this complex area.

The successful candidate will have completed or be working towards CIPD Level 7, or have equivalent relevant qualifications. You should have excellent organisational skills, a professional customer-focused approach and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience. The actual duties you will undertake on a day-to-day basis will vary and so being able to manage your workload and time is essential. You should also have experience of working in an HR role, as well as knowledge and experience of the application of UK employment law and Home Office regulations for Visas. HR experience within a higher education institution and experience of supervising staff is desirable.

Please see the below 'Job Description' for further details on the responsibilities and selection criteria, as well as further information about the university and how to apply.

NDCN encourages staff to explore the University's Work Learn Develop programme of funded professional training and development opportunities for university staff. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a suitable individual to pursue a qualification while working for NDCN.

This post is permanent and full time. Hybrid working is available.

Only applications received before 12pm midday on Wednesday 29th November 2023 will be considered.

Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
