Deputy Head of Assurance

The University is seeking a Deputy Head of Assurance to play a pivotal role in enhancing the University's assurance and risk management activities. This is one of two new roles in the assurance team in the Governance and Compliance Division and represents an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing team and to support the breadth of activities taking place across a world leading University.

The role holder will deputise for, and report to, the Head of Assurance on all aspects of the University's assurance activities. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on audit and assurance matters, monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and lead on the development of aspects of the University's assurance framework. This includes managing the University's annual assurance statements process to provide assurance over devolved activities that ensure compliance with legal or regulatory requirements. Alongside these duties, they will also lead the development of an assurance and compliance framework for the University.

The successful candidate will have experience of contributing to or working within a risk, audit, compliance or assurance function in a large organisation. You will need excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate and liaise confidently with members of the University at all levels. You will also need strong organisational and project management skills, and the ability to prioritise work to meet regulatory and other deadlines. You will be educated to first degree level (or equivalent), ideally with a relevant professional qualification.

Additional information regarding the role may be found within the Further Particulars via the link below.

Your application, along with a covering letter, should clearly set out how you meet the criteria listed in the person profile (the skills and experience required for the role) along with relevant examples. Candidates will be shortlisted based upon these criteria.
