Duties of the Role

The Deputy Department Manager supports the Department Manager with all aspects of departmental, course and student administration. The role has specific responsibility for the Department's student services function and is responsible for managing a highly efficient student and academic services administration team. The role also shapes the student delivery model for the Department, and drives a culture of excellence in service delivery, sharing best practice, and facilitating continuous improvement.

Skills and qualifications required

This role would suit a dynamic and proactive administrator with staff management experience and excellent problem-solving and organisational skills in a complex and challenging role. High-level communication and interpersonal skills together with a proven ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels are essential to this role. The duties of the post are varied and wide-ranging, with a key responsibility for managing the delivery of an excellent student service in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
