Appointment Status Non-Tenure Track Department IUPUI Dentistry-Oral Biology Position Summary

Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) is seeking applications for a full time (0.8 to 1.0 FTE) Dental Clinic Director for our Evansville Clinic in the Stone Family Center. This clinical- or tenure-track position will be in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Comprehensive Care at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor depending upon the applicant's credentials.

As clinic director, the successful candidate will serve as the primary dental provider for the clinic initially and will coordinate the Evansville clinical rotations of IUSD students, provide clinical instruction and assessment, facilitate onsite interprofessional education, and manage clinical staff including additional full-time and adjunct dental faculty. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing an application for initial CODA accreditation for a General Practice Residency (GPR) to be housed in the IUSD Evansville Clinic. The Director will make recommendations to the department chair for program changes as well as have administrative, financial, and outreach responsibilities to make the Evansville program successful. This includes strengthening and building local, regional, and statewide partnerships to improve educational and access to care opportunities. The successful candidate must have a clear commitment to reducing oral health disparities. Relocation to Evansville, Indiana, and periodic travel to area health facilities as well as IU School of Dentistry in Indianapolis are requirements.

Basic Qualifications

Required qualifications : Graduation from a CODA-accredited dental school program with DDS or DMD degree and GPR program. Eligible for an unrestricted dental license in Indiana. A minimum of five years of experience teaching in a hospital based GPR or AEGD program.

Preferred qualifications: Previous program management and clinical experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting. It would be beneficial if the applicant has had administrative experience with an accredited PGY1 dental program. Experience and expertise in the full scope of general dentistry and advanced procedures in prosthodontics and endodontics would be valued assets.
