The Faculty of Dentistry - Te Kaupeka Pūniho, has an international reputation for clinical and research excellence. Founded in 1907, it is New Zealand's National Centre for Dentistry. It forms an integral part of the Division of Health Sciences within the University of Otago.

The role/Te mahi

Key tasks of the role include: • Preparation of clinics for Undergraduate and Post Graduate clinical sessions. • Chairside assistance for both staff and students working within the school. • Patient management. • Sterilisation of instruments as required.

Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

We are looking for candidates with: • Dental Assistant experience. • New Zealand Dental Assistants' Certificate or equivalent. • Excellent people and communication skills. • Sterilising experience in a dental or hospital facility (an advantage).

We have multiple permanent Dental Assistant opportunities available as follows: • Full time (37.5 hours week), full year. • Part time, full year. • Full time or Part time – Semester time only (31 weeks per year).

Depending on your personal circumstances, we have roles that can fit your preference. This position offers flexible days and hours depending on personal circumstances.

Hours of work will be by arrangement with your supervisor, between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

Position starts 03 April 2023, (earlier starts may be considered).
