Support the clinical faculty, dental students, and other clinical support staff in the CDM Clinical Sites including the pre-clinical simulation laboratory. Prepare, dispense, and maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be a Dental Assistant in the State of California; have a minimum of one year experience as a dental assistant;
Must have demonstrated knowledge in aseptic infection control and sterilization techniques as they relate to a dental practice.
Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with health care professionals, students, and patients. Bilingual ability helpful.
Proficient with computers, use of dental technology, electronic health record, printers, calculator, fax machine, copy machine operation, electronic mail, video communications programs and telephone operation. Continuous creating a safe, effective environment for patient care, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
Education: Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience: One or more years of experience as a dental assistant in a clinic, hospital clinic or dental office
Licensure and Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification and CA radiation safety certification. Must have completed or be able to complete within 90 days of hire: a California Dental Board approved course in the Dental Practice Act and a California Board approved course in infection control. Must have a valid Driver's License
Must maintain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the WesternU Vehicle Use Policy.

Usual hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with the possibility of earlier or later start time. Evening or weekends may be required. Maybe be required to travel to CDM clinics including but not limited to CDM sites in Pomona, El Monte, Chino Hills, and Rancho Mirage.

Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials. Enter orders into the University's system for approval and processing; follow-up with Manager of Clinical and/or Pre-Clinical operations to ensure order is placed and received in a timely fashion.
