Position Title Degree Audit Analyst

Position Summary
The Degree Audit Analyst supports the Assistant Registrar with the graduation
auditing process through the use of Banner SIS and DegreeWorks. In addition,
this position provides assistance with graduation related events. The Degree
Audit Analyst reports to the Associate Registrar, Records & Graduation.
This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal
regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual
Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the
employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive
information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are
set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Description of Job Duties
Using Banner SIS and Degree Works, review the student's record to
determine that the student has met all degree requirements.
Identify graduation deficiencies preventing graduation; respond to
inquiries from students related to their graduation status.
Interpret policies and apply them accordingly in the review of academic
requirements by required deadlines.
Use discretion and independent action to resolve discrepancies in student
record audits.
Confer all degrees within required time frames.
Serve as primary point of contact for faculty and professional advisors in
matters relative to the evaluation of student records.
Maintain accurate degree requirements information in Degree Works
information system.
Implement the management policies and operating practices of the
undergraduate and graduate catalogs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Duty Name Graduation Events
Description of Job Duties
Assist with the planning and execution of the commencement ceremony and
all graduation related events.
Coordinate the ordering and distribution of degrees to graduates.
Ensure student graduate data is reported to the National Student
Clearinghouse in a timely manner; coordinate with the System Analyst to
ensure the report is completed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
Ability to learn and successfully use Banner, BDM and CRM systems;
Excellent customer service skills;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills;
Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Knowledge of UIW institutional policies and degree requirements;
Ability to successfully learn the degree audit maintenance process, and
compliance audit process;
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and
cultures;
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the
University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree.
Required Work Experience
Two (2) to three (3) years of work experience in a higher education
environment working with database information.
Preferred Qualifications
At least six (6) months of experience working with relational databases,
such as the Banner Student Information System.
Knowledge of UIW degree requirements and institutional policies.
Knowledge of compliance audit process.
Knowledge of degree audit maintenance process.

Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental
goals.
