Job description
Dean of International and Partnerships
Circa £85k - Grade 10
Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students. This has been recognised by the Sunday Times naming Abertay as the University of the Year for Teaching Quality in 2021. This quality is developed through partnership working between academic staff, professional services staff, and students at the University.
We're proud to be the 2021 Sunday Times University of the Year for Teaching Quality, and to be a National Centre for Excellence for both video games and cybersecurity education.
We are Athena Swan Bronze Award holders, recognising the University's achievements in respect of gender equality. Since 2017 we have held a Race Equality Charter Bronze Award for our ongoing commitment and active steps to improving race equality for our staff and students. We were the first university in Scotland to achieve this award.
This role reflects the need to build capacity, to lead and grow international and partnerships activities. It seeks to recognise and embrace our excellence in teaching quality, research and consultancy, and will lead and manage the development and continuous improvement of our international and partnerships plan.
This role will lead on relevant strategic and operational initiatives designed to enhance student outcomes, including retention, attainment, and progression to employment.
The Dean for International will enhance our academic alliances with existing local and international partners, influence new collaborative partnership development, lead, and motivate staff, and be truly innovative and strategic regarding improving student outcomes.
We hope you will want to join us to help steer this exciting work as the University looks to develop its expertise and expand its footprint in this area.
