Position Title Dean of High School Partnerships

Job Description

Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean of High School Partnerships leads the High School Partnerships department in serving the member institutions of the Green Hills Area Education Agency (AEA) in Southwest Iowa. The Dean of High School Partnerships elicits feedback from area school administrators and collaborates across internal departments to meet the needs of district students. The Dean of High School Partnerships serves the primary point of contact for high school counselors and senior administrators in the college's efforts to improve the academic experience for concurrently enrolled high school students.

  • Master's degree, plus five years full-time experience working in an educational institution is required
  • Minimum of two years community college or personnel leadership experience is required
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administration
  • Strong computational ability to include mathematic calculations and analyzing data
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness
  • Positive attitude
  • Regular, prompt & reliable attendance
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, individually and as a team member
  • Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver license and good driving record.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of joint enrollment policies, including Senior Year Plus (SYP) legislation and programs, Concurrent Enrollment (CE), Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO), College Early Start Summer Academies (CESS), Regional Academies, partner contracting, and other non-SYP college credit opportunities for high school students is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) is strongly preferred
  • Physical Demands

    Position involves working in an office setting. Frequent reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Frequent walking. Occasional standing, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Regular driving to local and state meetings.

    Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May require light lifting. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, telephone, faxes, and copiers.
