Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Data Platform Engineer has arisen within our Learning & Information Services Team. The successful post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management, administration, maintenance, monitoring and modernisation of the University's data platforms, systems and integrations; applying agile development practices and working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary product team focused on continuous improvement. You will also drive, inform and implement technological solutions taking ideas and/or designs to development into production, working in close collaboration with wider IT team and key business stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have experience of administering data warehouse platforms, carrying out requirements engineering and business process modelling activities, 2nd/3rd line system support in a customer/business focused environment, working to defined principles around data and system architecture, documentation and change controls, providing/undertaking solution analysis, options appraisal and recommendations and will have the relevant business or systems based degree or equivalent work experience.

You will have the ability to communicate and collaborate well with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation with varying technical experience and capabilities coupled together with strong problem-solving, a logical approach and to see different perspectives and alternative options. It is key that you work well under pressure and have an appreciation of business priorities, deadlines and client requirements.
