The COM Data and Learning Analytics Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision in all areas of learning analytics and technology and for leading a process of continual improvement of administrator and staff activity with existing and emerging technologies. This position provides high-level support for data-focused research across the curriculum including the overall planning, coordination, tracking, implementation, execution, documentation, control and completion of curricular and organizational projects, ensuring alignment with COM strategy, commitments, goals, and compliance with accrediting bodies. Applies expertise to evaluating, selecting, deploying, and supporting appropriate information and technology resources in support of the College's research, reporting, and curricular needs.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and inform SharePoint design, installation, and maintenance processes.
  • Configure, redesign, and migrate SharePoint sites and associated databases and resources.
  • Support software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Maps, and spreadsheets, for mapping, data analysis, and data visualization and presentation.
  • Create, maintain, and guide the adoption of learner development program and skills maps comprised of outcome stacks and assessment trajectories that are aligned with both short- and long-term strategic plans.
  • Responsible for effective use of learning tools and solutions related to competency-based learning.
  • Manages the development of curricular program maps, including identification and creation of frameworks, pathways, sequences, assessments, and skills proficiency models for competency-based learning.
  • Leads administrators and faculty in the development, delivery, and maintenance of learning products and services including learning maps and curriculum resources.
  • Manage Geographic Information System (GIS)-related data, projects, and presentation: research and test new data sources, software, and organizational tools; create and implement standards for quality of geographic data; design, develop, and implement systems and databases for storing and accessing geospatial data.
  • Review and update COM's webpages — content, relevance, and functionality.
  • Assist in organizational compliance, as well as any COM self-assessment, to preserve standards set forth by the AOA Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), the United States Department of Education (USDE), and the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).

  • Qualifications

    Bachelors Degree plus 5 or more years direct work experience in consulting or project coordination, preferably in higher education, academic medicine or health care administration, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project coordination/management: CAPM or PMP given preference
  • Expertise with both Windows and MAC operating systems.
  • Advanced MS Office and MS Office 365 Suite skills; in particular SharePoint.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Work experience in the areas of database and system design, preferably in large dataset management.
  • Power analysis/statistical analysis knowledge/experience.
  • Working knowledge of GIS; certification preferred.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Proven experience in people management and leadership skills.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communications; ability to provide clear direction to project team and to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
