Strategic Planning is a small team within the Directorate of the University working to provide insight and solutions around all major activities of the University. You will be working within a small team of analysts whose primary role is to provide data analysis to support the University's organizational activities and enable strategic decision making.
You will support a number of planning-centered activities (e.g. planning round, education review) while also developing and maintaining data models and visualizations. You will spend 20% of your time on off the job training, completing a Masters course in Data analytics.
You will be highly analytical, able to work independently and passionate about working with data and providing analysis that has an impact. You will have knowledge of the HE sector policy developments and together your skills and knowledge will enhance the evidence driven culture of the University.
The main purpose of this role is to produce accurate and timely data and appropriate analysis to aid business decisions. It is a critical role to help the team develop the capacity to support the management information functions.
You must be educated to Degree Level. You must have experience of working with data providing appropriate manipulation, analysis, and reporting, in order to make well-informed recommendations, and to present these clearly in reports.
You should have strong analytical skills. Have the capability to analyze raw data in order to identify trends, patterns and to satisfy monitoring requirements. Be a proficient user of Excel and Access. You must be able to think creatively and innovatively about issues.
