About the Role The Faculty of Fine Arts and Music seeks to appoint a Dance Therapist to be a Teaching Specialist in Creative Arts Therapy. With a primary focus on the Master of Creative Arts Therapy but an interest in creative arts therapy teaching and research more broadly, the appointee will have experience as a dance therapy practitioner, with appropriate qualifications in the modality either from Australia or internationally. The appointee will lead one subject per semester, contribute to intensive workshops and participate in team meetings and activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development, preparation and delivery of tutorials in creative arts therapy in online, blended learning and face to face contexts.
  • Development and implementation of online assessment of scholarly and arts- based based materials.
  • Development of relevant and contemporary materials that provide guidance for students as they study in the masters program and beyond.
  • About You To be successful in this role you will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships. You will have extensive experience as a creative arts therapist and demonstrated experience in developing creative arts therapy curriculum, including coordinating and teaching online content.

    You will also have:

  • Appropriate qualification in a Creative Arts Therapy discipline
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work with central university systems
  • Demonstrated capacity to teach and develop online technologies for integration into the Master of Creative Arts Therapy
  • To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
