Position Summary

THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY AND CRIMINOLOGY AT STONEHILL COLLEGE invites applications for a one-year teaching fellow in criminology to begin in January 2022. The teaching fellow will join a department of eleven full-time faculty with a wide range of expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. A stipend of $30,000 will be provided plus benefits and faculty development funds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach a 2/2 course load. For the spring semester courses will be one section of Critical Introduction to Criminal Justice (CRM 120) and one section of Criminological Theories (CRM 201). Fall semester courses will be determined based on selected candidate's interests and department needs. Areas of specialization are open.

Education and/or Experience

A completed Ph.D. in criminology, criminal justice, or sociology with a concentration in criminology is preferred; ABD considered based on experience in teaching and a plan to finish the degree. Preferred Qualifications

A completed Ph.D. in criminology or sociology is preferred; ABD considered based on experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience. We value candidates who exemplify the teacher-scholar model with a clear understanding of how to integrate vibrant teaching, research, and student engagement.
