Working Title Creative Director MMRPosition Status Full Time Department Marketing/Communications General Summary
The Creative Director serves as the college's lead graphic designer and is responsible for managing and building brand identity and creative elements for digital, video and print collateral. The Creative Director reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Media Relations and is responsible for creating, designing, producing, editing and deploying effective video and graphic design consistent with the college's mission, vision and values.
Specific Position Duties
Assist the Executive Director to develop, refine, strengthen, implement, and evaluate marketing and communication strategies to manage and meet institutional enrollment, persistence, graduation, transfer and placement targets.
Responsible for the development of the creative strategy for the college
Provide direction to colleagues and to administration regarding brand identity
Use college-wide collaboration and stakeholder input to lead the design, creation and editing of institutional and enrollment marketing collateral that effectively promote the college's instructional and student support programs.
Supervise part- and full-time personnel involved in creative design including but not limited to print, web, video and digital collateral
Continuously evaluate, refine and develop the college's brand standard and brand identity.
Evaluate and measure effectiveness of creative campaigns
Develop visually cohesive marketing campaigns using creative graphic design that promotes the college brand
Develop and maintain dynamic digital, video and print assets that advance the college brand awareness and reputation by utilizing all media platforms
Ensure that video and graphic design is consistent with brand standards and promoted across all relevant platforms including social media, web, print publications, presentations, etc.
Ensure that video and graphic design is timely, relevant and dynamic
Supports college activities and special events through attendance and/or participation
Use interpersonal skills and make sound judgments
Carries out other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in marketing, journalism, communications and or related experience in the field
Strong computer skills (preferably Mac-based) with specific emphasis in software programs such as: Adobe Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office. Proficient in digital photography and videography including pre and post production
Understand requirements of pre-press production and printing technologies
Working knowledge of final print production
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
A strong commitment to the mission of the community college
A strong knowledge of community college marketing
Ability to effectively supervise and motivate personnel
Ability to work effectively with diverse student and employee populations
Excellent supervisory, administrative, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect and interpret data; and effectively present information to college leaders and direct reports
Must be a self-starter who is also capable of working as an integral part of the Marketing Communications team
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in marketing, journalism, communications or related field
Demonstrated experience in a higher education marketing management role
