  • About the position

    The Library's Digital Discovery team is responsible for ensuring that the planning, development, and delivery of online educational resources is integrated across all Library functions and enhances the Library's effectiveness through deliberate and targeted use of new and emerging digital technologies. The team provides tools and expertise to ensure the University community can discover and access the scholarly resources they need for learning, teaching and research; supports the development of digital capability for Library staff; and provides expert advice and support to academic staff to publish open educational resources via the La Trobe eBureau.

    This role provides leadership and expert advice within the Library to ensure library web platforms are effective, fit for purpose, maintained throughout the software lifecycle, and meet current and future needs of all La Trobe's stakeholders

    Skills and Experience

    To be considered for this position, you will have

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in and across teams
  • Demonstrated experience using web content management systems - experience with Squiz Matrix is highly desirable
  • Proven technical experience using web-based technologies including APIs, relational databases (MySQL), data transfer formats such as XML and JSON, and web programming languages including HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently and meet all deadlines
