  • Knowledge of bicycle mechanics, bicycle repair, and safe tool use.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required.
  • Must be available to work outside normal shift schedule on an as‐needed basis.
  • Must have a current state driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to operate a university vehicle required safely.
  • Available for travel.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising students and temporary staff.
  • League Certified Instructor (LCI) – League of American Bicyclists.
  • Ability to use tools and perform basic infrastructure installations.
  • Experience in campus transit.
  • Retail management, sales, and cash-handling experience. (Bicycle/Transit specific preferred).
  • Job Description

    Responsible for supporting the Transportation Services department in the areas of shuttle, biking, cartography, and alternative transportation on and off campus.

    Job Duties

  • Manages the day-to-day activities of the on-campus bike shop, The Bike Cave.
  • Manages the day-to-day activities of the late-night transportation service, Nite Cats. Nite Cats is a late-night program; evening and night hours will be required on an as-needed basis.
  • Assists in overseeing micro-mobility collaborations with the City of San Marcos, including SPIN Scooter and E-bike Share.
  • Assists with special events (including presidential events, commencement, football games and tailgating) with onsite management, traffic control, and driving customers in vehicles (including 15-passenger vans, mini- buses, and utility vehicles).
  • Infrastructure support including bicycles, scooters, carpooling, signage, and wayfinding.
  • Find ways to grow sustainable transportation programs and sustainability awareness on campus.
  • Assists the Manager, Transit Operations, to support Transportation Services as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
