The Coordinator will directly report to the Director of the Center and shall be responsible for assisting the Director with the overall operations of the Child Care Laboratory. S/he shall be primarily responsible for oversight of the Laboratory located on the Albert A. Sheen campus.
The successful candidate will have an earned Bachelor's degree. in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education or a child-related or human services field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a licensed or certified child care facility, and shall have obtained annual training of no less than twenty-four (24) clock hours of classroom instruction that include but is not limited to: (a) child care facility management, (b) a Director's institute, © child development, (d) health and safety, and € current best practices in child care, with a minimum of 1 (one) hour of training in the area of “child abuse and neglect.” Additionally, the candidate shall have demonstrated evidence of leadership experience in the field as a coordinator or director's assistant.
Core Skills • Proficiency in using computers and software packages, such as Microsoft Office (i.e., PowerPoint, Word, Excel) • Budgeting experience • Knowledge of territorial and federal daycare laws and requirements • Training and certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications • Working with young children and their families • Knowledge and experience with children with varying ability levels, including children with disabilities

Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. The person in this position frequently communicates with staff and families. This person must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Occasional light lifting, bending, operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.Posting Details

Essential Functions • Manage all classrooms at the center ensuring compliance with policies and licensing guidelines. • Assist in the development and implementation of the program curriculum and activities. • Practice continuous quality improvement, evaluating programs, and implementing changes as needed. • Develop and distribute parent communications, including monthly calendars and quarterly newsletters. • Ensure that observations and evaluations of each child are completed. • Maintain required records and files. • Work with lead teachers to ensure proper staffing and ratios within the center at all times. • Assist the Director in reaching enrollment and revenue goals.
