Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs advanced coordinator duties for the Correctional Management Institute of Texas (CMIT).
Primary Responsibilities
Plans and develops various trainings and responsible for multiple program budgets. Utilizes independent judgement regarding decisions and actions. Effectively directs project work. Maintains hotel and vendor contracts. Corresponds with trainers and agencies for the successful development and delivery of Institute trainings. Maintains participant records and provides reports on the activities assigned for the Institute's administration. Accepts payments and maintains participant database. Works directly with the Executive Director and the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) on international executive leadership trainings. Set-up and manage virtual training events, manage subject matter expert's (SME) logistics, contracts, and payments. Responsible for grant writing and coordination with SHSU and State Department protocols. Ensures proper and adequate oversight of grant timelines, grant deadlines, and grant reporting. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral); ability to manage multiple projects; attention to detail; bilingual would be beneficial for the international programs; knowledge of local, state, and federal laws; ability to supervise business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies.
