Bachelor's degree in related field. Three years of experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs complex administrative and supervisory work related to logistics and planning for University events.
Primary Responsibilities
Provides leadership and professional expertise in the planning and implementation of University events. Creates and maintains positive working relationships with University partners, vendors, donors, alumni, and external constituents. Works collaboratively with campus partners to coordinate and manage arrangements necessary to execute high quality events. Serves as liaison between campus facilities, services, public safety, parking, and vendors. Coordinates event reservations, meetings, vendor management, and execution. Coordinates with hauling, moving and storage to ensure all needs are met for event set-up and tear down in managed buildings. Manages building key check out/check in process for buildings. Assists in coordinating food, beverage, and linens. Assists in the coordination of assessment efforts to ensure client expectations are fulfilled. Oversees the usage and management of special event facilities such as Peabody Library, Austin Hall, and Gibbs Ranch. Creates procedures and policies to aide in the delivery of events. Serves as co-chair of the special events committee and may serve on various other committees on campus. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requires strong interpersonal skills with exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Requires the ability to build effective relationships, both internally and externally. Demonstrates confidence, professional ability, a keen understanding of protocol, and an appropriate awareness of and sensitivity to the opinions and concerns of others. Working hours may vary as required including evening and weekend work.
