Job Summary

The Coordinator for Education and Examination Center is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the CDL Education and Examination Center. The Coordinator will maintain an office at the Commercial Education and Examination Center.

The Coordinator for Education and Examination Center is responsible for all transportation related contracts, agreements, and MOUs maintained by the Department of Workforce & Continuing Education. This includes but is not limited to the Texas Department of Transportation Interagency Training Agreement in all of its aspects, and all scheduling aspects of the daily operations of the CDL 3rd Party Skills and Knowledge Examination Center.

The Coordinator for Education and Examination Center is responsible for supervising other transportation related projects assigned by the VP for Workforce Development and Continuing Education.

The Coordinator for Education and Examination Center reports to the Vice President for Workforce Development and Continuing Education and will be located at the CDL Education and Examination Center.

The Coordinator for Education and Examination Center works with the CDL Examination Director and the CDL Education Director to insure daily, efficient, operations of the Department's Commercial Driver training program, the commercial driver examination center and all related training contracts.

Promote a positive campus image. Follow established college policies and procedures. The Coordinator for Education and Examination Center will complete other duties as assigned.

This position will routinely sit at a desk in an office setting but is also required to interact with examiners and students in outdoor settings which may include noise and close proximity to heavy equipment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and see. The employee is occasionally required to sit, lift, push, bend, climb, pull and carry objects up to 40 pounds. This employee frequently required to climb 8 feet or more.

Minimum Qualifications

This position must maintain standing as a DPS Designated Responsible Party. Valid driver's license. Some travel may be required.

KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS/ABILITIES: At least three years of scheduling, and supervising contracts for transportation training in a college setting. Effective communication skills. Work effectively with parents, students, faculty and staff in professional manner.

Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.

Plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Understand all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations pertaining to commercial driver training and examination. Manage an educational facility. Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications SALARY 62,500; Plus Excellent Benefits Work Hours Full-time 40 hours a week, 8 to 5 Monday thru Friday. Occasional overtime may be required.
