Type of Recruitment External Position Title COORD/FACULTY APPROVAL SERVICES Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for the faculty approval process from initial part-time adjunct faculty recruitment through the approval and review process for online and satellite courses. This position also monitors compliance with applicable policies, agreements, and handbooks as it relates to faculty/instructors who teach courses delivered online or at satellite locations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or other relevant field. Three years of relevant professional experience. Familiarity with basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to read, analyze, interpret reports and complex documents as they relate to the faculty approval and recruiting functions. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with individuals at all levels of an organization. Demonstrated positive interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to project a positive and professional image representing the University. Available to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours as necessary. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in related field. Experience with specialized computer applications such as SAP, CRM, PeopleAdmin, or others with similar functionality. Experience in a higher education administration or related field. Experience with web-based application systems. PHR/SPHR.

Duties & Responsibilities

Recommends and implements and/or collaborates with other units on the recruitment, selection, and on-boarding processes as they relate to part-time adjunct faculty and/or other faculty considered for online or satellite location courses. Facilitates meetings and action items generated by course needs reviewed for advertising and recruiting of part-time adjunct faculty opportunities. Works closely with supervisor and the Coordinator of Faculty Assignment to support overall recruiting and selection responsibilities. Develops and implements strategic objectives, goals, and tactics relative to recruiting, reviewing, selection, and on-boarding of part-time adjunct faculty, when applicable. Reviews and preliminarily determines whether applicants meet approval criteria set by the academic department. Once initial approval criteria are determined to have been met, submits to Academic Department for final approval. Communicates with faculty, who request to teach or teach scheduled courses through online and satellite locations, via email, phone, and letters to answer questions regarding approvals, requests for additional approvals, and to direct them to the appropriate personnel for teaching assignments. Tracks and coordinates approvals received from department chairs. Collaborates with the appropriate staff on faculty recruitment issues, including evaluating course needs, recommending the posting of teaching opportunities. Maintains current approval criteria and communicates with Department Chairs for approval criteria. Monitors the contract review process, data entry for approvals and maintenance of database. Works collaboratively with supervisor and Executive Secretary regarding any needed corrections, changes, or improvements. Reviews Faculty Personnel Transaction forms for regular and fixed-term campus faculty who teach courses delivered through online and satellite locations or other areas as needed. Reviews student surveys for teaching effectiveness and provided input from Faculty Support team for completed courses due for department review. Prepares reports, verifications, and completes special projects as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
