About the role
Do you ever think there must be a better way of doing things? Are you someone who is always looking for how to improve ways of working?
We have an exciting opportunity to join the very well-respected and friendly Focus team as a Continuous Improvement (CI) Practitioner. We work with colleagues across central and academic departments, improving the quality of services, enhancing collaboration and supporting people in improving the delivery of the professional services that support Oxford's core mission of teaching and research. We are a key delivery partner of the Professional Services Together programme.
The Focus CI Practitioner role is varied and challenging. In this role you could lead a process improvement project or service review or develop continuous improvement capabilities in teams and individuals, acting as a trusted expert and coach in CI. We also work in conjunction with other change programmes such as Digital Transformation and Everyday Safe, acting as experts in process improvement. In all cases you will work in partnership with people across the organisation, adopting a highly collaborative approach and operating as an ambassador for continuous improvement and change across the University.
About you
The current Focus CI Practitioners come from a range of backgrounds. You will be able to demonstrate how you've used your skills to challenge constructively and introduce improvements. You will be a clear communicator with excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to work well with people in uncertain and/or complex situations. Your ability to work as part of a team and build strong and positive working relationships with colleagues across the organisation to achieve results will be critical to success in the role. Experience of working successfully within project environments will be beneficial but on the job training will be available.
