Continuous Improvement Lead

Salary: Grade 8 (£54,585 – £54,395 p.a. depending on experience)

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you committed to evolving the delivery of change for IT services, products and projects? Do you love finding new ways of delighting your customers and colleagues?

As an IT Continuous Improvement Lead, you will take an important role in partnering with the business in defining opportunities, developing clear customer delivery focused recommendations, and ultimately owning the delivery of fit for purpose, scalable process solutions in a timely manner. You will draw on internal and external data and perspectives in providing the IT delivery teams with solutions and improvements to current business processes.

This role supports the Head of Delivery Development and Continuous Improvement in determining and embedding processes and controls to support the business transition through its journey to a new Target Operating Model in collaboration with each IT function.

You will support the transition of the IT department's delivery capability towards increasingly Agile and product-based ways of working, as well as leading specific work streams to improve processes, structures and tools, using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) where appropriate.

With experience of managing and documenting different types of project and programme process improvement initiatives to meet agreed delivery outcomes, you will be able to demonstrate experience of setting performance standards for teams against frameworks and best practice.

You will also demonstrate an ability to identity and prioritise improvement opportunities that enable customer-focused delivery, whether in reducing lead- times, unblocking process or recommending alternative delivery models.

As part of the Continuous Improvement Team, you will work collaboratively with the programme management office and Demand & Capacity function as well as with project and programme teams, business analysts and technical teams to ensure that we deliver a seamless service for customers. You will be driving continuous improvement across the IT delivery function, creating a culture of operational excellence, and striving to achieve project delivery.
