    GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

    Kirkwood Continuing Education and Training Services is currently looking for instructors for Spanish Language and Cultures in Coralville, and/or Cedar Rapids. Under limited supervision, the Learning Facilitator is responsible for teaching beginner level Spanish language classes and ensuring all students meet the objectives of the course. The right candidate will provide exemplary customer service to students and staff through positive class interaction, ensure they are meeting students' needs, and maintain a clean, neat, and inviting learning experience while having a positive and upbeat attitude.

  • DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently attend scheduled classes.
  • Facilitate an outstanding participant experience by giving exemplary customer service.
  • Greet and welcome participants to class as they arrive.
  • Effectively communicate with participants and Continuing Education Staff.
  • Answer questions and provide resources as appropriate to participants.
  • Deliver course content and ensure that learning outcomes are met.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

    Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking most of the time in a classroom/laboratory setting. Constant (67-100%) reaching, standing, walking, lifting, dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and viewing various types of close visual work. Frequent (34-66%) stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching. Exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally (10-33%). Will travel to other on-campus facilities, off-campus facilities and agencies to teach, attend meetings, etc.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Professional and relevant academic/ industry experience
  • Previous Spanish teaching experience
