Position Title Construction Technology Instructor

Position Number 601 Branch Academic Affairs Division Construction Education Department Construction Technology Job Description

The Construction Education Program is seeking positive, dynamic, student- centered individuals to teach a diverse community of learners the desired skills for today's work place. Preference will be given to candidates who are committed to student success and the use of the classroom experiences to enhance workplace understanding and performance.

Prepare and teach a full range of carpentry and construction management coursework to include a yearly capstone project in conjunction with the electrical technology, architectural technology, and HVAC programs. Participate collaboratively in curriculum review and development, outcomes assessment, advisory council activities, projects, student recruitment, industry partnerships and other department or College activities.

Required Qualification

Minimum of 8 years full-time related occupational experience

OR

approved Journey-worker status

OR

an Associate's degree in career field and 4 years full-time related occupational experience

OR

a Bachelor's degree in the discipline or in a related discipline and 2 years full-time related occupational experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Higher Education / Community College teaching experience preferred.

Familiarity with construction industry software and technology.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of walking and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary/Hourly Rate $75,154

Schedule: Work hours and days fluctuates depending upon student need. This position may work morning, afternoons and/or evenings.

232-day, 12-month contract. May include day, evening and/or weekend classes and may involve travel to other campuses. May include teaching in many different delivery methods including face-to- face, video-conferencing, team-teaching or any combination. A teaching demonstration is required as part of the interview process. Position is contingent upon MCC Board of Governors approval. Hiring process includes passing a background check.

NOTE: College degrees obtained outside the U.S. accepted only when interpreted by transcript service members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
