$17.67 hourly up to 25 hours per week.

This is a temporary part-time position. Work days are Monday through Saturday any time from 8am to 6pm.

    Responsibilities

    DESCRIPTION:

    The Computer Support Specialist I performs Help Desk functions including answering phone calls and messages. Supports and troubleshoots problems for all campus office computer workstations and associated peripherals and provides network and telecommunication equipment support.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Answers college-related technical support phone calls, e-mails, and text messages from students and employees.

    2. Provides password resets for students and employees.

    3. Resolves computer hardware and software technical support issues which includes troubleshooting, contacting manufacturers' technical support centers,

    researching problem resolutions and customer resolution follow up.

    4. Installs and de-installs computer equipment and keeps the computer inventory database updated with all moves/changes.

    5. Deploys operating system and applications using system management tools.

    6. Supports campus printers, desktop peripherals, and classroom technology.

    7. Develops and maintains detailed documentation of the configuration of non- standard software and installation procedures, including specific predetermined

    configuration settings.

    8. Occasionally provides on-site backup support for remote campuses within Seminole County.

    9. Performs all site and position specific responsibilities as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.

    2. One year of customer service experience.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Associate's degree from an accredited college or university.

    2. Two or more years of experience installing and supporting software applications and computer hardware in a heterogeneous networking environment.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    1. Ability to install hardware and software.

    2. Ability to use computer system management software such as KACE and SCCM.

    3. Ability to communicate with administration, faculty, students, and support personnel on related topics in a technical and non-technical manner.

    4. Excellent organization and diagnostic skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks.

    5. Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems with software and hardware.

    6. Ability to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.

    7. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.

    8. Demonstrates a professional, courteous demeanor.

    9. Committed to working in a multicultural environment.

    WORK CONDITIONS and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

    1. Works primarily in an office environment but may work some outdoor events.

    2. Works a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

    3. Travels between buildings and campuses.

    4. Work requires lifting and moving desktop computer systems weighing up to 25 pounds.

    5. Work may require squatting, bending, stooping and pulling or pushing loaded carts.
