Job Summary

Position starts immediately

Primary responsibility will be to deliver current networking education that prepares high school students for higher education and employment in the Computer Networking Field and related fields. The instructor will prepare and teach the CompTIA ITF+, A+, Network+, Security +, and Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator certifications throughout a 4-semester program.

The position provides instruction on a 10-month academic contract with standard days off for holidays including alignment with local schools for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Additional instructional courses could be developed and will be compensated in line with the ASUTR adjunct payscale.

Uniqueness of Position

SCCTC is a newly constructed career technology campus that will offer state- of-the-art instruction to students from six school districts with students in Saline County. This position will begin immediately.

The individual should be a high-energy, selfless individual that has a proven track record of successful student engagement and/or mentor training. The ability to examine, evaluate, implement and review creative solutions to challenges is critical to success in this position.

Required Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Skills

· Ability to perform the skills required of professionals in a variety of different settings

· Knowledge of and ability to use equipment commonly used in the field

· Safety protocols expected within the field

· Professional employability skills expected within the field

· Ability to assist students in meeting course objectives in a manner that is appropriate for students with diverse educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles.

· Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both written and verbal, with high school and college administrators, industry and community leaders, students' parents and/or guardians, and Career Center coworkers

· Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications

· Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Required Education and Experience

· Associate Degree or higher in Computer Networking or related field

· Solid knowledge and understanding of common equipment, processes, procedures, laws, and safety expectations found in the field

· Ability to effectively demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities required of professionals in the field

· Ability to complete the SkillsUSA Chapter Management Institute

· Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications

· Excellent written and oral communication, as well as interpersonal skills

· Fulfill all college and state licensing requirements within two years from the hire date

· Must be able to pass a drug screen on the day of the offer, pass state and federal background checks, and child maltreatment registry check

· Basic Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education and Experience

· 5+ years of current experience working in the field

· 5+ years of instructional experience in teaching and similar field

· 2+ years experience developing technology curriculums

· 2+ years of experience as an educator of high school students

· A Bachelors degree in computer networking, information systems, or related field

· CPR and First Aid certifications

· Extensive Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Blackboard experience

· Google Classroom and Google Docs
